Overview of story
The story follows a butterfly that doesn’t sparkle like their friends and family. Sad and upset that they don’t sparkle they go on a quest to find their sparkle. Along the way, they ask a goat, a bear, and an otter how they found their sparkle. But their methods don’t work for the butterfly. It is only after talking to the moon that they learn that to sparkle, they must do what they love, and be authentically themselves. In the end, they discover that to sparkle, all they have to do is be themselves and follow their heart.

General background of the story (why I wrote it)
My inspiration for the story came from my own experience. I wasn’t happy working in my London job. So, I quit and travelled to find the way I wanted to live and my happiness. After traveling for a year, and experiencing many different things I realised, that my happiness comes from within, from self-acceptance, self-love, and self-forgiveness self-love.
This journey inspired the story, of the butterfly going on a journey to find her happiness, only to find she had it all along she just needed to be brave enough to accept it and let it shine.

Vision for the book
My vision is for it to be visually beautiful and calming. And to match the rhyme rhythm. It is aimed to be a story that is read aloud to a child. The size of the book is 10”x8” landscape.
