What We’re Looking For
A sharp, experienced Robotics Engineer who works with real mechanical robots that move. No simulation fluff. Only the real deal. Must have hands-on mastery in all three of the following areas: 1. Embedded Systems – STM32, PWM, stepper motors, CAN stepper drivers. Full hardware bring-up in CubeMX with sensors and communication buses like UART, SPI, and CAN. 2. Control Systems – Non-linear control, ADRC, STSMC, H-infinity, or similar. Fast convergence, strong rejection of mechanical disturbance, real-world system identification, feedback filtering with zero phase delay. High-speed systems. Must be tested and validated on actual machines. 👉 If you’re not a master of at least one of these controllers—do not apply. 3. Robotics – Sensor integration, trajectory planning, SLAM, robot behaviour modeling (e.g., in StateFlow). etc. , Robust, real-time execution. ⸻ Who Should Apply Only seasoned professionals. That means: 5+ years of post-Bachelor experience in all three areas. Yes—we have to spell this out because some people count university projects. Don’t. Help Us Configure/Build an Economical Robotic Arm Solution for Handling Trading Cards (Consumer/Hobbyist Level)
We are seeking a technically inclined freelancer with strong consumer, prosumer, hobbyist, or "maker/geek" level expertise in home robotics—especially robotic arms. Our goal is to identify, obtain, configure, and deploy an economical, pre-built or kit-based robotic arm solution that can be adapted for a specific, repetitive task involving trading cards. Project Overview: We want to automate the process of photographing trading cards using an affordable, consumer-level robotic arm that meets the following functional goals: 1. Pick up one trading card at a time from a small stack, hopper, or feeder. Guessing pneumatic/suction is best. 2. Place the card on a background mat in a consistent orientation. 3. Trigger a smartphone camera (or similar) to take a photo of the card. 4. Move the card to a storage receptacle after the image is captured. This system does not need to be industrial grade—we are targeting cost-effective hobby or consumer robotics kits that are capable of performing this task reliably. Scope of Work: • Research and recommend the most economical and functional consumer-level robotic arm (ideally under $300-$500 total budget). • The arm must include or support a pneumatic or suction-based gripper to safely pick up standard-size trading cards without damaging them. • Configure the arm to complete the above task cycle, including programming it (Arduino, Python, etc. as appropriate). • Integrate the arm’s actions with a smartphone camera trigger mechanism (wired, Bluetooth, or mechanical trigger—any method that reliably initiates a photo). • Help us source or obtain a suitable kit, and potentially assemble or customize it to our specifications. • Ideally assist with basic documentation and repeatability, so we can maintain or scale the solution. What We’re Looking For: • Proven experience working with consumer or hobbyist robotic arms (e.g., uArm, Dobot, xArm, myCobot, Arduino-based kits, etc.) • Familiarity with suction-based or pneumatic grippers and their application in low-cost robotics. • Understanding of automation workflows and triggering actions via code or hardware. • A practical mindset: we are not looking to build from scratch—we want to adapt an off-the-shelf or kit-based solution efficiently and affordably. Budget Constraints: • Total hardware cost (robot arm, gripper, accessories) must remain in the low hundreds of dollars range. • Preference will be given to solutions that maximize function while minimizing cost. Deliverables: • Recommendation of hardware (arm + gripper + triggering method) • Setup/configuration/programming of a working prototype • Guidance on how to assemble/use/maintain the setup • Optional: procurement and assembly (if you're willing to do that and ship to us, additional compensation is available) Ideal Candidate: • Tinkerer, engineer, or robotics hobbyist • Maker community member or YouTuber who’s built similar setups • Someone who loves finding clever, inexpensive solutions using existing tools and kits Bonus if you have: • Experience working with camera automation (smartphone or DSLR triggers) • 3D printing experience (for custom mounts or feeders if needed) • Access to low-cost parts/kits and the ability to ship us a working system If you're excited by clever, functional robotics on a budget and love solving real-world problems with maker-style ingenuity, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m working on a robotics project using an Arduino board and need help building a voice-controlled robot. The idea is simple: I want to control the robot using basic voice commands like “move forward”, “turn left”, “stop”, etc.
Here’s what I need: • Guidance or help with setting up the hardware (motors, sensors, power supply, etc.) • Help integrating voice control — either via a Bluetooth voice recognition module or using a smartphone (Google Assistant + Bluetooth/serial communication) • Writing clean, working Arduino code • Possibly integrating with motor drivers (L298N or similar) and ultrasonic sensors for basic navigation • Assistance with testing and debugging Bonus (not required): • If you can help with integrating with a custom app, or setting it up via Raspberry Pi + Arduino combo, that’s a plus • If you have experience with gesture or AI voice assistants, let me know What I have: • Arduino Uno / Nano board • L298N motor driver • Basic 2WD robot chassis • HC-05 Bluetooth module (optional) • Ultrasonic sensor • Open to suggestions for voice recognition modules or approaches Looking for someone who’s experienced with Arduino and robotics, and can either guide me or help build this out with clear documentation and support.
