Hello! I am the host of a mental health podcast and am looking for an audio engineer to edit the audio files. I produce two main types of podcasts:
- Solo episodes (10-30 minutes) - Guest interviews (45-60 minutes) I'm looking for someone who can help elevate my podcast's audio quality while preserving the genuine, heartfelt conversations that my listeners love. What I Need: I'm looking for someone to clean up the audio by removing excessive filler words (ums, ahs), long pauses, and other distractions that impact listening quality. This is fairly basic editing work – I'm not looking for complex sound design or mixing. I handle the intro and outro music myself. Occasionally, I insert 1-3 minute promotional segments about my offerings into the episodes. These segments would also need to be edited to maintain consistent audio quality throughout. Future Potential: Currently, I use episode transcripts to create shownotes in my voice and style. If we work well together, there may be an opportunity for you to take over this aspect of production as well. Please mention any relevant experience you have with writing podcast shownotes. Application Process: Before making a hiring decision, I require applicants to complete a sample edit of: - A short segment from a solo episode - A short segment from an interview episode This helps me assess your editing style and ensures we're a good fit before committing to ongoing work. Pricing Structure: Please clearly specify how you structure your pricing: - Do you charge per hour of labor spent editing OR do you charge a flat rate per delivered minute/hour of finished audio? - Please also include your typical turnaround time and indicate your average availability per week Being transparent about your pricing and availability will help us both determine if this is a good fit. A Plus: Being neurodivergent isn't required, but as a neurodivergent person myself, I appreciate working with others who share similar perspectives. Client's questions:

We are looking for an experienced Android developer to create a native Android application. The primary function of this app will be to connect to a specific hardware device via Wi-Fi and allow the user to upload images and videos from their Android phone to the device.
Our device functions as its own open (password-free) Wi-Fi hotspot. Users will connect their Android phone directly to this Wi-Fi network broadcast by the device. There is an existing iPhone app that successfully communicates with and uploads media to this device over its Wi-Fi network. The core challenge involves understanding and implementing the communication protocol used by the device to receive files once the Android phone is connected to its hotspot. We may have limited or no technical documentation detailing this protocol. Key Responsibilities: Develop a native Android application using Kotlin or Java. Implement functionality for the Android app to connect to a specific open Wi-Fi network (the device's hotspot) programmatically or by guiding the user. Determine the device's IP address and communication port on the local Wi-Fi network after connecting. Implement the communication logic to send image and video files to the device. This may involve analyzing how the existing iPhone app communicates if documentation is not available (experience with network analysis tools would be a strong plus). Integrate media selection from the Android device's gallery/file system. Implement a user interface for connecting to the device, selecting files, starting/stopping uploads, and showing upload progress. Handle background uploads to ensure the app remains responsive. Implement robust error handling for connection issues and upload failures. Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience in native Android app development. Strong understanding of Android Wi-Fi and network connectivity APIs (WifiManager, ConnectivityManager). Experience with network programming (TCP/IP sockets, HTTP, or other relevant protocols). Experience handling file input/output and streaming large files. Experience with Android background processing (Foreground Services, WorkManager). Solid understanding of Android permissions, including location and storage access for media. Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in reverse engineering or working with undocumented protocols. Ability to write clean, maintainable code. Good communication skills. Bonus Skills: Experience with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Charles Proxy) to inspect network traffic. Prior experience developing Android apps that communicate with custom hardware devices over a local network.

The project I am looking for is a desktop software/program that is oriented around tapping and swiping. When the computer is connected to an android phone it 1 records where I tap, (this is my version of training), 2 recognize patterns in my tapping and understand between what’s on screen and the time it’s needed to tap. And 3 improve through trial and error to improve beyond my training. The recorded training only occurs when I specifically click when training starts and I am able to take out any unnecessary tapping I accidentally put in to optimize performance. I need this to be as non complex as an interface as possible and uses an assigned storage picked out for it. As well as having the ability to isolate each training as this will be used for different applications on said android phone. I do want to add the fact that I can add pictures and goals to it as well. Say I screenshot and upload a picture and the goal was to hit a specific color it would take my clumsy reflexes and improve what I thought to tap the color every time. I do want to add the fact that I can add pictures and goals to it as well. Say I screenshot and upload a picture and the goal was to hit a specific color, it would take my clumsy reflexes and improve what I thought to tap the color every time. This application will be used mostly for mobile games, hence the separate files for each app, and everything is legal if you’re wondering.
An additional option would be able to cross link applications say, based on time, ex: taps on area, closes app, goes in another and taps something else. What follows is the basic layout 1) A desktop application (likely built with Python or Electron) with a minimal user interface. 2) Communication with your Android phone, possibly via ADB or a lightweight companion app, to track and simulate taps. 3) A training module to record your inputs, allow editing, and manage separate training sessions. 4) A visual processing component to analyze uploaded screenshots and identify target regions. 5) A learning algorithm to optimize tap actions over time. Looking for an AWS architect / data engineer / developer with extensive experience with implementing best-practices for AWS Lambda, Eventbridge, Cloudwatch, Python, Packer/Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, data pipelines / engineering workflows, Boto3 SDK, GitHub Actions, S3 buckets, and AWS RDS of PostgreSQL provisioning and setup. This is a private project so a non-disclosure agreement is mandated.
My goal is to properly build an ETL data pipeline using GitHub (private repo where the Python scripts are stored and invoked by Lambda or we can use GitHub Actions as well), AWS Lambda + EventBridge to ingest/save this data into an RDS instance of PostgreSQL (db.m6i.xlarge sized + database and associated tables are based on the defined ERD schema) and then to provide SMTP notifications based on specific criteria. The /v1/status/signs API endpoint is the primary focus since whether a sign is deemed healthy or unhealthy depends on returned device-status, device-comm-status, and current-message outputs. Ideally, I'd like to use the device-name as the unique identifier including the synthetic_execution_time as composite primary keys. I'd also be inserting a specific column called synthetic_execution_time which will be a date/timestamp of when the Lambda python script polling occurs (performing the HTTP GET requests) as I'd be using this column for filtering purposes along with the device_name. If a sign is deemed unhealthy based on the returned device-status, device-comm-status, and current-message outputs (from the /v1/status/signs API endpoint) I would like to pull data from the /v1/status/solar-controllers endpoint (with the same synthetic_execution_time value) based on the same device-name identifier to show the various fields like battery-voltage-volts, battery-temperature-Fahrenheit, and so forth. The criteria for an unhealthy sign is the following (note if any of these conditions are met then the sign should be flagged): • if the device_status = ‘failed’ or ‘unknown’ or ‘out of service’ • if the device_comm_status = ‘failed’ or ‘offline’ • if the current_message = empty value or ‘NaN’ Swagger/OAS3 for GoTime API: (https://data-api.massgotime.com/index.html) The specific API endpoints that I'm looking to ingest into the RDS instance of PostgreSQL are the following. I can provide sample HTTP 200 JSON responses in .txt files per endpoint. /v1/inventory/signs (polled once a day starting at 2 AM) /v1/inventory/detectors (polled once a day starting at 2 AM) /v1/inventory/solar-controllers (polled once a day starting at 2 AM) /v1/status/signs (polled every 10 minutes with the only exception being from 1 AM to 5 AM) /v1/status/solar-controllers (polled every 10 minutes with the only exception being from 1 AM to 5 AM) /v1/status/detectors (polled every 10 minutes with the only exception being from 1 AM to 5 AM) /v1/status/routes (polled every 10 minutes with the only exception being from 1 AM to 5 AM) /v1/status/links (polled every 10 minutes with the only exception being from 1 AM to 5 AM) In terms of deliverables I’m looking for: (1) Assistance/step-by-step walkthrough with incorporating Packer/Terraform to provision the entire AWS infrastructure including serverless components in the context of my AWS account. Infrastructure will consist of (1) RDS instance of PostgreSQL (multi-AZ), (1) EC2 instance running Windows Server 2025 that will have Power BI Desktop installed, on-premises data gateway, and a few other software packages, (1) S3 Bucket we will use to store the generated .xlsx files from Lambda, Lambda functions (including setting up invoking the latest python scripts from private GitHub repository for execution so Lambda will pull the latest committed code updates), Eventbridge for scheduling Lambda execution, IAM roles/privileges to ensure resources scope appropriately, and SES/SNS for mail notifications. (2) Rewrite/refactor python scripts used for the ETL data pipeline as per best practices (per API endpoint covered I have one script for extracting the API endpoint data, performing some transformations, dumping it into a .xlsx file, and another script to insert it into the appropriate PostgreSQL database tables and columns). If it’s possible to consolidate this that would be great as well and revisions that incorporate the boto3 SDK for AWS resources (the current script does not taking into account AWS and is run on a local machine) such as dumping the generated .xlsx file to a folder in S3 bucket with specific naming conventions. I’d want to add some error checking and API tests to ensure the API is available and if not then wait for 1 minute before performing a retry and if still unavailable then send an SMTP email using a specific internal SMTP server. If the entire Lambda executes successfully then also send out an email via the same internal SMTP server. (3) Create a separate Lambda function that only runs after the first Lambda function (for the ETL pipeline) runs successfully whose purpose is to send out styled / responsive HTML email notifications (incorporating a logo and email design) with the goal of leveraging two forms of notifications - (1) email notifications and (2) a webhook to an MS Teams channel using a JSON adaptive card). The main focus of these notifications are the results of the /v1/status/signs outputs stored in the RDS database table sign_status (specifically filter by synthetic_execution_time and device_name based on the unhealthy sign criteria and list the rows that meet this condition). Since the polling occurs every 10 minutes for the /v1/status API endpoints I’d like there to be some conditional logic as well to minimize the volume of notifications which we can discuss later. It would also be great to have multiple availability metrics based on the Signs API endpoint using stored procedures to get uptime based on certain date/time thresholds - day, week, month, year, and so forth. (4) Create AWS architecture / Data Pipeline diagrams for project reference including documentation for all aspects of this project (Terraform IaC, IAM user/roles needed, PostgreSQL setup, etc.). (5) Discuss and do a series of sanity checks to ensure everything provisioned is setup per best-practices. We can review all pieces of this from a use-case viewpoint and I'm pretty flexible with making adjustments based on better recommendations. We can discuss more via Zoom so we are both on the same page prior to starting the project. (6) Knowledge transfer as needed for maintenance, general upkeep, and potential improvements (future work proposals in other jobs outside the scope of this one).
